The Fun Company opens up the New Year with the world premiere original show The Amazing Interactive Adventure! at The Maryland Ensemble Theatre. The adventure begins February 13th! A young girl named Alex discovers a fantastic device that uncontrollably whisks her away to far off lands and distant times. With the help and participation of the audience, she gets herself out of sticky situations and makes exciting new friends along the way. But will she ever find her way home? Hungry monsters and alien planets, magical wizards and singing pirates... What will she encounter and how will she prevail? You decide! The cast includes Matt Baughman, Michelle Simms, Vanessa Strickland and Karli Cole as Alex. Sunil Sukla Art Exhibit
This art exhibit will feature watercolors and mixed media work by Bangladesh-native Sunil Sukla at the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce's training room and is a part of the Frederick Arts Council's ArtinBusiness program. A special meet and greet with the artist will be held on April 8th from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. as part of the Chamber’s Coffee & Contacts. Pre-registration is required.
GALLERY 322 Presents the Paintings of Walt Bartman
Walter Bartman, is a well known Maryland artist and Braddock Heights resident. Many of his paintings reflect his sensitivity to light and color. Known as a colorist, Mr. Bartman selects his subjects from a variety of sources. For him, Color’s emotionalism is symbolic. He sees himself as a symbolist. In much of his work, Mr. Bartman paints what he finds fascinating and after finishing the painting he searches for it's deeper meaning. Walter Bartman has an international reputation as an artist and teacher. He is founder and director of the Yellow Barn Studio in Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo, Maryland. His career spans 39 years. He has been featured on national TV shows and many periodicals including the New York Times. He is listed in the Art and Artist Files in the Hirshhorn Museum Library Collection. He maintains studios in Braddock Heights, Tilghman Island and Glen Echo, Maryland. Gallery Hours are Tuesday and Thursday – Sunday from 12 - 5 p.m. An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, March 6th from 4 - 8 p.m.

No DOG Theater presents ‘Doubt: A Parable’, by John Patrick Shanley. The play will be held on March 12,13,19,20 at 8pm at the Cultural Arts Center of Frederick County. In this powerful drama, a Catholic nun takes matters into her own hands, when she suspects a priest of improper relations with her students. A suggested cash donation of $20 is requested.

Theater groups in Frederick County are joining together to unveil their 2009-2010 theater season and the public is invited to attend this party. This event, organized by the Frederick Theatre Collective and the Frederick Arts Council, will provide attendees an opportunity to preview the various musicals, plays, and performances scheduled for the year. National Arts and Humanities Month Celebration
The Frederick Arts Council, along with many other arts organizations in Frederick County, is again sponsoring special activities and events during National Arts and Humanities Month. 5th Annual Celebration of the Arts Dinner
The Frederick Arts Council is hosting its annual Celebration of the Arts Dinner on Wednesday, October 20th. A reception begins at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The event will feature a keynote speaker, performance, recognition of annual grant recipients, as well as presentation of several annual awards. This event serves as the primary gathering of artists, arts organizations, and arts supporters in Frederick County. Frederick Festival of Greens
Over 100 decorated and themed wreaths and trees are expected to adorn the Cultural Arts Center during the second annual Frederick Festival of Greens. The wreaths and trees, ranging from the fancy to the funky, are decorated by local artists, businesses, school groups, community organizations, and other residents. Individuals can bid on the decorated pieces throughout the festival during a silent auction.
